Well there’s cologne and perfume. Cologne has a higher alcohol content and doesn’t have as concentrated a scent as perfume. Check the label and the size–you can buy the same product at both places–drugstores might be cheaper though.

Based on your symptoms and family history, please see a doctor, soon! A neurologist would be best. If you need a referral, see your primary care doctor first explain everything you did above to them and ask for a referral to a neurologist.

You can now buy name brand perfumes that you would buy in the department stores. The perfume in the drugstores that are name brand are usually in a very smaller bottle, but it’s still the same brand. They only carry certain name brands in the drugstores. If you want more for your money then you would need to go to the department store.

Well I don’t know about adding more alcohol but the drugstore is cheaper because they sell a lot of no name brands vs. when you go in Macy’s etc., you’re paying for the name, not what’s inside the bottle.

Go to the doctor and get your head examined it’s your best bet due to your history of head injuries.

Migraine headaches can be the worst if not addressed immedeatly. Here are a couple of helpful hints, that I hope you find useful: 1) Immedeatly focus on relaxing… running the thoughts of stress or fear in your brain will not assist in this, the easiest way is 3 deep breaths, each one a little deeper than before, we also don’t want you to pass out! 2) close your eyes and start to visualize! Imagine you have a small camera inside of your own head and begin to inspect that area that is causing you the most amount of discomfort, what shape is it, what colour do you see, is it smooth or jagged along the edges, and as you notice the particulars of this discomfort, then start to take a look at a part of your head/ brain that feels perfectly fine. Migraines very rarely effect or occupy the entire head so there is usually a part if the head/brain that does feel “normal” as you notice the same qualities about that part of your head you can now begin to become creative in making the “two area” the same… preferabbly the area of discomfort the same as the part that feels normal!

Medication itself doesnt normally help migraines. I have had them since I was 13 and I am now 34. I have been to the neurologist, had MRI and CT scans, even was told I had multiple sclerosis. My best recommendation is to go to your doctor or the emergency room and request Demerol and Phenergan IM. Then look into seeing an allergist to check your sinuses. I have had two surgeries on my sinuses and in the last 6 months had 1 migraine lasting 4 days. Just a thought.

Yes, dehydration can trigger a migraine. Drink a couple of glasses of water and in the future make sure you drink enough water, prevention is much better than a cure. Besides, the water won’t cure a migraine once it begins but it will allow it to get better at it’s own pace. Take whatever you have, Tylenol, Motrin, . Excedrine is my favorite. Get an ice pack or cold cloth for your head and lay down in a dark, quiet room and try to sleep. Take a bucket just in case you need it.
